About Us

Heather Ashworth Failla, CFP®, CDFA®, CRPC®, CLTC®

Founder/ Owner – Divorce Financial Planner

After spending nearly 30 years in the financial industry and experiencing my own divorce in 2002, I saw firsthand how overwhelming the process can be. Over time, I watched friends and family struggle with the complexities of divorce, and I realized there was a significant need for specialized financial guidance in this area. As I continued to create comprehensive financial plans for clients, I saw that people—especially those from my generation—needed help navigating the unique financial challenges of divorce.

This realization led me to start Piedmont Divorce Planning. With more people in my age group and older going through what’s often called “gray divorce,” I decided to focus my attention on supporting them through this life transition. My passion lies in helping clients understand their finances during divorce and empowering them to make informed decisions

Beyond the divorce process itself, many clients ask, “Now what? The divorce is final, and I don’t know what to do next. How do I transition my assets and start building my new life?” I am dedicated to helping answer those questions and guiding clients as they secure their financial futures post-divorce. Empowering people to feel confident and prepared for this next chapter is what drives me every day
